Platform

In Multipass, platform refers to the host computer’s operating system. This can be Windows, macOS, or Linux.

Minimal requirements

Multipass for Linux is published as a snap package, available on the Snap Store. Before you can use it, you need to install snapd. snapd is included in Ubuntu by default.

You can use any Mac (M-series or Intel based) with macOS 14 Sonoma or later installed.

Multipass supports Windows 10 or 11 on Home, Pro, and Enterprise editions. The minimal required version is 1809 (October 2018 Update). The Virtual Machine Platform feature needs to be enabled.
